The Town of Cornwall Police Department would like to advise residents, especially senior citizens, of a scam that has been circulating.

Residents may receive a phone call from an individual fraudulently identifying themselves as a law enforcement officer or an attorney and requesting bail money for an incident involving a family member. These impersonators will typically request a large sum of cash and either send a courier to retrieve the money or ask the resident to meet them in person.

Please do not provide these individuals with any personal or financial information. Hang up the phone and immediately contact the Cornwall Police Department at 845-534-8100 to report the incident.
