Walk ALS Hudson Valley set for October 18

Posted

Walk ALS Hudson Valley will be held Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park.

The community event, organized by ALS United Greater New York, raises money for ALS care, local advocacy and research.

Check-in and onsite registration will begin at 9 a.m. on the Highland side of the Walkway at 87 Haviland Road. Online registration is free, and all participants 18 and older, including guests, must register.

Because parking at the Haviland Road trailhead is limited, free shuttles will run continuously to the check-in area from the nearby Hannaford parking lot, south of the Mid-Hudson Bridge, and the Route 9W/Route 299 Park & Ride lot.

Paid parking also will be available at the Highland entrance.

Organizers are seeking volunteers to assist with registration and check-in, parking and logistics, T-shirt and incentive distribution, route support and water stations.

Those interested in volunteering can contact event coordinator Ben Alexander at balexander@als-ny.org or register through the ALS United Greater New York website.
