Two Flushing residents were arrested following a prostitution investigation at a Fullerton Avenue business in Newburgh, police said.

City of Newburgh police detectives executed a search warrant Oct. 28 at approximately 6 p.m. at 327 Fullerton Ave., Suite 2, following multiple complaints alleging prostitution at the location. Some complaints raised concerns about the business' proximity to Newburgh Free Academy Main and Gidney Avenue Memorial School.

The investigation included multiple undercover officers and resulted in the arrests of Guanglian Sun, 41, and Huizhen Zhang, 45. Both were charged with prostitution, prostitution in a school zone and unauthorized practice of a licensed profession.

Detectives seized $20,681.03 in cash, which police said they believe was proceeds from illegal massages and sex acts.

The department's Detective Division conducted the investigation with assistance from the City of Newburgh Building and Codes Department, which helped with the search warrant operation and condemned the location.
