Susan C. Warms (Vaughan), 73, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, after her battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on February 1, 1953 in Middletown, New York, Susan grew up in Circleville and later made her home in Pine Bush, New York.
Susan had a strong personality and was never afraid to speak her mind. Throughout her life, she built connections with many people through her work, her community, and the relationships she held dear.
Susan spent many years working as a hairdresser at Horton Memorial Hospital and JC Penny’s beauty salon. She later earned her associate degree and went on to work in the Town of Chester Assessor’s Office, where she remained until her retirement. She was also a devoted member of the Democratic Committee, the NYS Assessors Association, the Orange County Assessors Association, and she took an active interest in her community.
Above all, her family held a special place in her life. Her grandchildren were her light and brought her tremendous joy. She will be remembered by her family for the memories they shared and the lasting place she holds in their lives.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Mary Lou (Cannon) Vaughan and Leon Vaughan, as well as her sisters, Judy Price and Debra Vaughan.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Boniface, and son-in-law, Drew Boniface; her son, Eric Warms, and daughter-in-law, Genn Long; and her beloved grandchildren, Eli, Saige, Ava, and Layla. She is also survived by her brothers, Daniel Vaughan and his wife, Barbara; Timothy Vaughan and Darryl Vaughan; along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush NY 12566. Funeral services will begin at 6:45pm.
