Newburgh Elks Lodge No. 247 held its 17th annual Miles of Hope Breast Cancer 10K picnic Oct. 3 at the lodge pavilion.
The event featured music by Rockslyde, with food prepared by Elks members. Pari Forood, executive director of Miles of Hope, attended the event.
Elks member and trustee John Giudice presented Forood with a $3,000 check on behalf of the lodge.
Forood thanked the Elks for their continued support, noting that the money will help fund research and provide supplies to women affected by breast cancer.
Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta and a sheriff’s deputy also attended the event. The department’s patrol vehicle featured a breast cancer emblem on its doors.
