New Windsor officials are looking for additional cuts to the town’s proposed budget, which currently has a 12.72% increase.
For a single-family home assessed at $40,000, the current proposal would amount to an increase of about $339.75 annually, or roughly $29 per month, according to information presented during an Oct. 5 Town Board workshop.
Board members are continuing to work with town financial officials on possible reductions ahead of an Oct. 14 budget meeting. The town has also included new revenue in the budget, including revenue from its hotel tax and $750,000 expected from the sale of the town gym.
A public hearing on the budget is expected in November.
