Anita L. Dieckmann, of Wallkill, NY entered into rest Wednesday, October 14, 2026. She was 90.
Daughter of the late Theodore and Anita (Flick) Sydlo, she was born September 16, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY.
Anita a longtime area resident was a homemaker. A very devout woman she was a member and Eucharist Minister at St. Patrick’s Church, Newburgh, NY. She was a member and past state President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Anita was also a member of the Blooming Grove Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Family was very important to her and she was known to be very generous.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (Patty Murphy) Dieckmann, of Manahawkin, NJ, Charles F. (Lucy) Dieckmann, Jr. of Wallkill and Theodore (Jackie Muskulus) Dieckmann of Walker Valley, NY; one daughter, Patti Read of Milford, PA; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Charles F. Dieckmann in 1988 and one grandchild (James Read), and two sisters(Carol and Dorothy).
Private cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, Newburgh, NY with Father Fernando Hernandez officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman, NY.
