WSB begins digital transformation of branch headquarters

Walden Savings Bank has introduced plans for advanced technology, including Augmented Reality, that will provide an enhanced, transformed banking experience for customers at its Montgomery branch/headquarters.

Walden Savings Bank is a community bank that has long prided itself on providing superb, solutions-driven service for its valued customers. The transformation of the Scott’s Corners Drive location, including renovation of its 3,100 square feet of lobby space to provide an interactive experience, is now in progress. The overall project is powered by Walden Savings Bank’s commitment to embracing the latest technology for customers while simultaneously maintaining its sought-after personalized service, customized for each customer’s specific needs.

“This digital branch transformation is an investment in today, the future and the customers who trust us to provide the personalized service for which Walden Savings Bank is well-known,” said Walden Savings Bank President and CEO Derrik Wynkoop.

The digital branch transformation and additional conveniences for personal-banking and business customers, to launch this fall, will include:

• Augmented Reality to conduct banking and learn about products and services through mobile devices – a first in the Hudson Valley.

• Digital Discovery Center in the lobby to help customers efficiently conduct banking tasks and access technological innovations. These include a CardValet®, Bank Wise personal financial-management dashboard, online-banking demonstration and enrollment, and Mobile Wallet.

• A new high-tech ATM that processes up to 300 items at once, including the capability to handle bulk check and cash deposits, for personal and business customers.

• Redesigned teller pods for a more engaging experience between customers and Walden Savings Bank team members.

• Three comfortable, confidential meeting areas to provide customers with a broad range of solutions and services.

• A high-tech Conference Room with video conferencing capabilities for customer meetings.

• The addition of the “WSB Café,” a self-service coffee bar for customers and guests.

• A new Digital Banking Specialist to provide customers with concierge access to Walden Savings Bank’s digital solutions.

Wynkoop and several members of the Board of Directors attended the event. The board includes Chairman Jeffrey D. Crist; Ira D. Conklin III; Stephen E. Burger; Dr. Peter V. Masci; Edward F.X. Gallagher Jr.; Norman “Marti” Sassi, CPA; and Dr. Michelle A. Koury. They were joined by the Storm King Group, a Montgomery-based construction company performing the renovation, and NES Group, a leader in bank design, architecture and project management. NES Group created the architectural plans and layout for the physical renovation. Walden Savings Bank also is partnering with other local contractors to complete this transformative project.
