The City of Newburgh Police Department welcomed its newest officer, Turon Schulterbrandt, following his graduation from the Orange County Police Academy on Oct. 2 at the Paramount Theatre in Middletown.

The city held a private ceremony Oct. 1 attended by Police Department staff, along with Schulterbrandt’s family and friends. During the ceremony, he was formally issued his department badge and firearm.

Schulterbrandt will serve the Newburgh community as part of the department’s efforts to protect public safety and build strong relationships with residents.
