MOTIVATE Physical Therapy – owned by Dr. Christine Stathes – has opened a second location in Fort Montgomery, the first one is in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Stathes was welcomed to the Town of Highlands last week by the Highlands Chamber of Commerce, with a balloon-filled ribbon cutting ceremony.
Surrounding Stathes are Matt Fascaldi from Senator James Skoufis’ office, Orange County Legislature Chairwoman Laurie Tautel, Assemblyman Chris Eachus, Highland Falls Trustee Aleena Olivia and Cornwall-on-Hudson Mayor Jim Kane.
“We are excited to welcome her and MOTIVATE to the Town of Highlands community and celebrate the expansion of quality healthcare services available locally,” the Chamber’s vice president, Sallie Dorsch, said.
All of the invited guests had best wishes to share, as well as praise for the practice of physical therapy. Fascaldi noted he’d been in a serious car accident several years ago that required him to spend a great deal of time rehabbing with physical therapists, and Kane noted he’s actually a patient of Stathes, after “doing something stupid – jumping out of an airplane!”.
“All I can say is this, is, she does a wonderful job,” Kane said. “You guys are extremely lucky, and all I can do is wish you the best of luck here and success.”
Tautel recounted when the building the new practice is located in was Fort Montgomery’s library and offered any help needed at the county level; Eachus called physical therapists “angels on earth”; and Olivia wished her luck in the second location.
Stathes spoke briefly, thanking her husband, family, friends, team and patients as well as both of her “wonderful communities”.
“I look forward to being a game changer in the healthcare field,” she said.
Friends and family joined Stathes at the ribbon-cutting. The business is located at 5 St. Mark’s Place in Fort Montgomery, behind the Fort Montgomery Post Office, and 1 Idlewild Ave., Suite 2, in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Stathes and her staff can be reached at 845-501-4171.
