Mayor Dennis Leahy met with state Sen. Rob Rolison Oct. 2 to discuss the deteriorating condition of Route 208, also known as Homestead Avenue.
Leahy said he took Rolison on a tour of the village to highlight problems with the state highway, including deteriorating roadway surfaces, shoulders and sidewalks. The meeting followed an Aug. 27 letter from Leahy to Rolison outlining the village’s concerns and including photographs of problem areas.
Leahy said the meeting was positive and expressed hope that Rolison’s assistance will help the village work with New York state to address some of the most serious trouble spots and make repairs to improve safety for residents and motorists.
