Let me tell you about the Angelo I’ve known and loved for more than 35 years. Angelo was just 17 when he first volunteered as an EMT with the Englewood Ambulance Corps. At 19, he volunteered with the Community Chest of Tenafly, a community foundation. I can’t begin to tell you how many organizations he has volunteered with over the years.
We moved to Cornwall in January 2001. Before the Fourth of July that year, Angelo had already volunteered with the Fourth of July Committee. He had lived in this community for less than six months and was already finding ways to give back. That’s who Angelo is.
He’s the neighbor who clears the snow from a single mother’s driveway, or from the driveway of someone recovering from surgery. He’s the one who posts on Facebook that he has sump pumps and can help anyone dealing with flooding. He never asks for anything in return…least of all public recognition.
That same sense of responsibility is why Angelo is running for Cornwall Town Board. He wants to be a responsible voice for everyone in Cornwall and bring the same care he gives his neighbors to decisions that affect the whole community.
He believes the Town should take the time to ask questions, look carefully at the facts, and make thoughtful, practical plans for Cornwall’s future. He wants to preserve what we can and avoid being left with reactive, forced decisions.
Angelo understands that for Cornwall to remain a viable community, we need growth. But growth needs to be measured and thoughtfully planned so we can preserve the small-town sense of community where neighbors look out for one another. Because that’s what it’s all about.
I know Angelo will bring his experience, his willingness to listen, and his love for this community to the Town Board. I’m proud of him, and I hope you’ll join me in supporting him.
