The Pumpkin Smash at the Town of Shawangunk Transfer Station was a hit once again! Families tossed their carefully cut pumpkins and jack-o’lanterns and received a Stewart’s ice cream cone gift card when they hit the bullseye. Joined by Vision of Wallkill, the Town of Shawangunk’s Environmental Committee offered information and tips to residents about the recycling center and composting while the mashed-up remains of their pumpkins were added to the compost pile.

Are you thinking how you will decorate your house or business for the upcoming holiday season? We’ve heard that many have already ordered lights and decorations, and YES!! They have already started to decorate!!! We will let you know when all decorations need to be up before judging happens for this year’s Sparkle & Shine Contest. And to get you into the holiday spirit, come to the “Holidays in the Hamlet” festivities on Saturday, December 2 from 3 – 7:30 p.m. More info on both holiday events will be coming soon.
