Hook & Reel coming to Newburgh Mall

Posted

On February 10, Mason Asset Management announced that Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood and Bar signed a lease for a 5,392 square-foot space at Newburgh Mall. The restaurant will be located at 1401 New York Route 300.

According to Igal Nassim of Mason Asset Management, Hook & Reel proposed the opening in Newburgh Mall around two months ago. The contract was finalized within two weeks for the location.

The New-Orleans style restaurant opened its first location in Maryland in 2013. It has been expanding across the nation. The Newburgh location will only be one of 13 additional locations in the nation. There will be a total of 20 nationwide restaurants and more will continue to come.

“They are experienced operators with a great concept,” said Nassim, “which we believe would do well at Newburgh Mall.”

The space reserved for Hook & Reel was previously empty for one year. Initially the space was inhabited by a Dollar Store.

“Our goal when filling a vacancy is always to identify its highest and best use,” said Nassim. “We are willing to spend the time required to determine the tenant that best suits the market.”

Hook & Reel has not determined its official opening yet. In addition to Hook & Reel, the Newburgh Mall is also looking at filling other spaces. Nassim said that the mall is looking at national retailers to fill their vacant Bon-Tan space.
