Newburgh firefighters responded to garage fire on Warden Circle on February 13. Newburgh Command requested a second alarm be transmitted. Heavy black smoke and flames seen in garage area spread to a boat in the driveway and the residence. West Point-Air Guard and Coldenham FD responded to the scene. Firefighters reported that a hydrant off Memorial Drive was frozen. Firefighters stretched hoses to other hydrants to get water supply. Firefighters used hand lines and ground ladders. Coldenham Ladder provided a hole in the roof for ventilation. One firefighter was removed by Mobile Life ALS to Montefiore-St. Luke‘s Cornwall Hospital. The fire is under investigation.
