Fake Blueberry Festival in Cornwall?

TV show filmed a scene at the Cornwall Yacht Club

For the past couple of months, a filming company has been shooting scenes, in Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson, for ‘Best Medicine’, a medical comedy on Fox. That continued last week as a ‘Blueberry Festival’ was set up adjacent to the Cornwall Yacht Club.

To date, a total of 11 days have been spent filming at Donahue Memorial Park and on River Avenue in the village, resulting in a total gross revenue for Cornwall-on-Hudson of a little more than $22,000. Mayor James Kane said quite a bit of that was made from use of the Donahue Park parking lots which were used to stage/park production trailers and film personnel vehicles. The net revenue, after deducting police department expenses, comes to around $18,000 to date.

Two days of filming also took place in the town, earlier in September, which grossed about $5000. Six episodes are being filmed and are expected to air early next year.

The series is expected to begin airing in the 2025-56 season – it’s a medical comedy drama television series based on the 2004–2022 British series Doc Martin. The premise is a doctor who moves from the city of Boston to a small East Coast practice where he vacationed as a child. The cast is led by Josh Charles as Dr. Martin Best, with Abigail Spencer, Josh Segarra, Annie Potts and Cree also in the main cast. Other names associated with it include Didi Conn, Clea Lewis, Stephen Spinella, Jason Veasey, John DiMaggio, Carter Shimp, Cindy De La Cruz and a dog named Wattson.
