The Valley Central School District will begin 2023 with a new superintendent leading the district. During the Monday, November 14, 2022, Board of Education Meeting, board members unanimously appointed Evette Avila as the new Superintendent of Schools. Avila will be joining the district on January 1, 2023.
A statement released by the district states, “Ms. Avila’s extensive knowledge and professional background, along with her strong beliefs regarding communication, serving the community and unity made her the unanimous choice of the Board of Education.”
Avila’s appointment comes after an extensive search by the district in conjunction with Orange-Ulster BOCES. I want to thank everyone who was a part of this process for all of their hard work and congratulate the Board of Education on making an outstanding decision....We are all very excited to have you join us.”
