The City of Newburgh has announced the start of the 2026 paving season starting in accordance with the City’s 5-year paving plan. Residents and motorists should anticipate temporary changes including restricted parking, detours, intermittent road closures, along with dust and noise due to milling and paving operations. Paving operations are expected to be completed by the end of October, weather permitting.
Temporary NO PARKING signs have been posted throughout impacted neighborhoods in advance of the scheduled milling and paving to notify residents of temporary parking restrictions along each street. Signs will remain in place until the paving work concludes.
The Department of Public Works will be conducting thorough inspections of road surfaces during the initial asphalt milling phase to identify and address any underlying damage discovered. All compromised areas will be repaired promptly prior to the start of paving operations. To ensure repairs are completed safely and efficiently, certain road closures may remain in effect for several days.
