Carolyn Theresa Gallifuco Terpening, of the Town of Newburgh, NY entered into rest on Saturday, October 10, 2026. She was 89.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Caroline (DeGiacomo) Gallifuco, she was born April 19, 1937 in Middletown, NY.
A lifelong area resident, Carolyn was a retired cafeteria cashier for the Newburgh Enlarged School District at the New Windsor Elementary School. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart – St. Francis Church. She enjoyed time spent playing Michigan Rummy with her good friends. She was also involved with the New Windsor Senior Citizen Club and loved her casino trips with good friends Irene (Renee) & her husband John DeMarco.
Youngest of eight siblings, Carolyn is survived by three sons, Robert (Bobby) G. Terpening, Jr & his wife Darlene, of Zepher Hills, FL; Mark C. Terpening & his wife Susan of Walden, NY; CMSGT Scott H. Terpening, USAF (Ret.) & his wife Kelly of Bridgeport, WV,. One daughter, Debra C. Raimondi & her husband Philip of the Town of Newburgh; her twelve grandchildren, Jimmy, Timmy, Justin, Philip & his wife Julie, Carolyn & her partner Michael, Kathryn & her wife Allison, Barbara & her partner Mike, Kimberly & her husband Joshua, Mark, Jr., James & his partner Christina, Jamie & her husband Derek and Emily & her husband Nigel; Ten great grandchildren, Malaya, Amarah, Aurora, Anthony, Viviana, Lexi, Jace, Julian, Avery, Margaret, & one on the way, (Ivory).
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert G. Terpening, Sr., in 2003, one brother and six sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am, Monday, October 26, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, NY.
Following Mass, she will be laid to rest at the Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Rt. 9W, Newburgh, NY.
