“Rejoice in hope,
endure in affliction
persevere in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
Welcome to November when bright blue skies gift us with its pleasant breezes and a subtle crispness in the air, and the trees are fashioning their leaves in showy shades of red, yellow and orange. Homes are now embellished with autumn’s harvest of gourds, bright orange pumpkins of all sizes, and gorgeous potted chrysanthemums in myriad colors dressing our front doors.
Fuzzy sweaters have made their entrance from the back of our closets, and a craving for healthy soups and stews warm up our hearts, as we retreat indoors to escape the chillier temperatures of autumn; a perfect time to read favorite books as nightfall comes earlier and evenings grow longer. Brew a pot of herbal tea and settle in a favorite chair and savor the flavors of autumn. After all, this is the cozy and comforting season of fall.
On October 25, Fr. Omachi, Deacon Tom Neppl, and the Knights of Columbus Council 444 participated in a solemn graveside service for the rededication of the Monument of the Unborn at Calvary Cemetery. “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the dead unborn, and all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”
The Mother Teresa of Calcutta Bereavement Support Group that met in Sacred Heart Chapel was led by Deacon Tom and loving facilitators. The fall 2026 session concluded and Elaine stated, “We always thank the office staff and our pastor, Fr. Omachi, for his support. Participants in the group were from our parish and surrounding ones. We will resume in April 2027.”
May you always have an angel at your side.
