Residents of Marlboro and Milton who have family members who served in the military may have their loved ones’ names engraved on the memorial wall behind Marlboro Elementary School, facing Route 9W.
Viebey-Sutton Post 124 is offering this opportunity at no cost. To honor a loved one, contact Ed Timberger at 914-805-9358, or place the required documents in the door slot at the Legion Hall, 50 Western Ave., Marlboro.
Proof of residency and military discharge papers are required.
This is a beautiful way to honor all who have served our country.

In-person registration is required, and spaces are limited. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the circulation desk. Visit marlborolibrary.org for guidelines and additional information.
Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to check in and enjoy cider and snacks before the tour.

Weekly Recipe
Slow Cooker Potato Soup
Ingredients
6 medium russet potatoes peeled and diced.
1 onion, diced.
3 cloves garlic, minced.
4 cups of chicken broth
1 tsp salt, ½ tsp pepper
8 oz cream cheese, cubed.
1 cup shredded cheddar
½ cup heavy cream (optional, makes it richer)
Toss the potatoes, onion, garlic, broth, salt, and pepper in the crock pot. Cook on low 6 hours or high 3–4, until the potatoes are falling apart.
Stir in the cream cheese until it melts, then mash some of the potatoes right in the pot with a potato masher for thickness — leave it chunky or go smooth, your call. Stir in the cheddar and cream, let it sit for 10 minutes.
Top with bacon bits, extra cheese, or green onions if you’ve got them.
