Map and Compass Navigation

9:00 AM
Bring the family out to learn basic map reading and compass use with a Mohonk Preserve educator! Learn how to take a bearing, orient your map and navigate the trails to reach your destination. Technology doesn’t always work in the field, so having basic map and compass skills can help you find your way when you are lost. Compasses will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own. This program is ideal for children ages 8 and up. Children must always be accompanied by a registered adult.
