The Town of Highlands Highway Department is expected to begin its annual leaf collection on Monday, Nov. 9, it was announced this week. As a reminder for residents, leaves should either be raked to the edge of the road or placed in clear plastic bags and placed at the side of the road. Only leaves should be in the bags – no other brush or sticks. Leaves will be collected on a time-available basis until the first snow falls, Highway Superintendent Greg Maher said.
