Main St. in Highland Falls will come alive with the colors and sounds of the Town of Highlands Ambulance Corps 33rd annual Fall Foliage Festival on Sunday, Oct. 11. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature everything from vendors and kids’ activities, to displays and information from community service groups and businesses, to food trucks and entertainment, to a petting zoo. Also on Main St. that day, the weekly Farmers Market will be going on from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., and the Church of the Holy Innocents, right behind the festival at 401 Main St., will offer tours of the church from 12-2 p.m. The Highland Falls Fire Department will have Orange County’s smoke trailer on hand to help teach children basic fire safety rules.
Main St. will be closed between Drew and Cozzens Avenues. during the festival and for a short period before and after it as vendors set up and break down. Those attending can park in the various municipal lots and parking spaces, at the West Point Visitor’s Center, and on residential streets, taking care to avoid driveways and fire hydrants.
