A healthy Saturday for seniors

The Town of Highlands Ambulance Corps is on a mission to become even more well-known in the Highland Falls and Fort Montgomery community than they already are.

Thus, in addition to their major upcoming event, the Fall Foliage Festival on Sunday, Oct. 11, and participating in activities like National Night Out and Independence Day, the THAC has recently held a very successful school supply drive and will host an American Red Cross blood drive on Friday, Oct. 16 (sign up at redcross.org and use code highlandems). This past Saturday they, in conjunction with The Center of Highland Falls, they held a senior citizen health and wellness fair, with informational vendors ( Fort Fitness, Hudson Valley Paws for a Cause, TriValley Legacy Group Medicare/insurance broker, MVP, Motivate PT, Highland Falls Dental, Walgreens, the American Red Cross, Hope Rocks and the Dial-A-Bus), giveaways, health screenings and more.

THAC Captain Jeff Gathers praised his young members and EMTs for their motivation and energy in organizing this and other events and said he hopes it will become an annual event. Here, some of the scenes of the day, which Gathers said stayed busy. It was held at the Church of the Holy Innocents.
