Leah Walsh was part of two fourth-place finishes, helping the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks to a seventh-place finish at the Hudson Valley Classic girls’ swimming and diving meet on Saturday at the Newburgh Free Academy Natatorium.

The Pine Bush Bushmen won the meet with 156 points.

Walsh was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.41 and led off the 400-yard freestyle relay team, which also included Lena Piscitella, Emma Smith and Karli Smith. They finished fourth with a time of 4:14.88.

Walsh was sixth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:33.56 and swam the butterfly leg of the 200-yard medley relay. She teamed with Lily Lawrence, Piscitella (breaststroke) and Karli Smith to finish sixth in 2:08.09.

Karli Smith finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.97 seconds and ninth in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.02.

Piscitella was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:321.33 and 15th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 28.61 seconds.

Emma Smith was eighth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:22,86 and she anchored the 12th-place 200-yard freestyle relay team with Olivia Marino, Lawrence and Siobhan Moody. They finished with a time of 2:06.26.

Lawrence was 10th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:25.03 and 11th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:13.23. Moody was ninth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:37.85.
