City of Newburgh police are investigating the stabbing of a man Friday afternoon near Tyrone Crabb Park.
Police responded shortly after 2:30 p.m. to a report of a person stabbed in the area of South and Grand streets. Empress EMS transported the victim to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital with what first responders described as several stab wounds to the face.
Police secured the area with crime scene tape while detectives searched for evidence and witnesses. The City of Newburgh Identification Unit photographed the scene and recovered clothing found on a sidewalk.
Detectives were also expected to interview the victim at the hospital. The investigation is continuing.
