The Gardiner Library will host What’s Up With Static Electricity? on Sunday January 20 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. This is a free event for ages 6-10. Sign-up open until January 11 and space is limited. Children will explore static electricity through a variety of experiments and inquiry based activities. Activities will include balloon static electricity, levitating an object, separating solids, and creating a static electric butterfly. Come ready to investigate and think in these hands on activities!

Christina Pominville is a seasoned science teacher with a master’s degree in science education. She is really into hands on science experiments and believes that kids learn science the best when they are doing it. This is a fun series of experiments for different age groups designed to get kids thinking about science and asking questions about how the world works.

The program takes place in the library community room, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner.
