Camden McDonough had a big day.
He drove in four runs, including a three-run homer, to power the Wallkill Panthers to a 10-4 victory over the Bombers on Thursday in a Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League 14U game at Wallkill Senior High School.
McDonough slid into home to finish off a three-run blast to center field during a six-run fourth inning that broke the game open. He also delivered an RBI single in the third and drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth.
The Panthers jumped in front 2-0 in the first inning after Liam Toutaiolepo drew a walk and the Bombers committed a costly error that brought home another run.
They extended their lead to 3-1 in the third when McDonough lined an RBI single down the left-field line.
Wallkill put the game away in the fourth, sending 10 batters to the plate. Michael Martell forced in a run with a walk before another Bombers error plated two more. McDonough iced the inning with his home run.
Gary MacEntee started on the mound for Wallkill, allowing one run without surrendering a hit over two innings while striking out one and walking three. McDonough added two scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit while striking out five.
Damian Apruzzese-Moreno took the loss for the Bombers after allowing two runs, none earned, over 1 2/3 innings.
Nicky Fiore, Vinny Alleva, Andrew Gaudinier, and Adam Aurigemma recorded one apiece for the Bombers. Aurigemma and Conor Capowski each drove in a run.
The win ended the Panthers’ three-game losing streak and they finished the regular season with a 5-4-1 record.
