Volker “Walt” Riemer of Maybrook, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 in Middletown. He was 81.
The son of the late Otto Ulrich and Maria Thräm Riemer, he was born March 11, 1940 in Weibelskirchen, Germany.
Walt served in the United States Army. He owned his own business, Walt Riemer Carpentry, for 45 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Walt was a loving husband and a kind man. He loved his children and always cherished his grandchildren. Fishing was his passion. He loved fishing at the Long Beach Island Jersey Shore. Walt will be missed by so many people. He will never be forgotten and always be loved.
Survivors include his wife Linda Connelly Riemer at home; sister Elka Rathwell; children Daniel Riemer, Michael Riemer, Laura Riemer and Aaron Riemer; Grandchildren Michael Riemer, Jacquelyn McFarland, Nicholas Riemer, Danielle Riemer, Dominique Riemer, Owen Riemer, Carys Riemer, Alec Riemer and Tyler Riemer.
He was predeceased by his father Otto Ulrich, mother Maria Riemer and adoptive father Eric Riemer.
Visitation will be Monday Sept. 6, 2021, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586
A funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 at 11am at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place privately.
