Unappealing scenery raises Walden eyebrows

At last week’s Walden Village Board meeting, former Trustee Lynn Thompson raised concerns about unsightly scenery along Route 208 near Lake Osiris Road. The imagery in question includes large amounts of debris strewn about on the grass and in the nearby woods along the road. Thompson requested that the board reach out to the Town of Montgomery on the matter, as the affected area falls under its responsibility.

“I don’t know how many of you go on Route 208 to go over to the Hamlet of Wallkill, but on the sharp curve where you turn right where you go to Lake Osiris Road, it’s pretty horrifying,” she said. “People have asked me, my husband, my children, our neighbors ‘What is that? How does the Village of Walden allow that?’ And we tell them ‘That is not the Village of Walden, that is the Town of Montgomery.’”

As of April 8, Walden Village Manager John Revella confirmed that the town was aware of the debris and reached out to the homeowner responsible for the mess.
