Torill “Tory” Nelson, of Walden passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on September 12, 2021. She was 54 years old.
Tory was born on April 2, 1967 in Kristiansand, Norway to Harry Hunsbedt and Tove Antonsen. She was an office administrator for several years at Preferred Fragrance in Newburgh,.
Tory was a dedicated mother and wife who treasured and embraced every moment with her family and friends. She especially loved her role as Nana to two beautiful grandbabies. Anyone who was lucky enough to know her knew she was incredibly genuine, loving, and one of a kind. She will be truly missed.
Tory is survived by; husband, John P Nelson at home; children, Ian McCarley (Mary) of Walden, Sean McCarley (Gina) of Walden, Shanna McCarley (Tim Wood) of Newburgh; mother, Tove Antonsen of Norway; brothers, Geir Hunsbedt (Beth) of Michigan, Morten Hunsbedt (Anne Lene) of Norway; sister, Gry Hansen of Norway; grandchildren, Anna McCarley and Olivia McCarley; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Harry Hunsbedt.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tory’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 17, 2021 from 2-4 PM and 6-7:30 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, Cremation was to take place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
