Rosalie Helen Pedersen, 82, of Pine Bush, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 17, 2021.

in Melbourne, Florida.  Rosalie was born in Brooklyn, NY to Agnello and Helen Maiorino on June 11th, 1938. She attended Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn, NY and graduated in 1956. She went on to work a satisfying and successful career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City for over 30 years. She enjoyed her long retirement with her husband, Benny, who is predeceased. She lived a charmed life filled with cooking for large family gatherings or enjoying cuisine out at restaurants with loved ones.  Rosalie traveled with her children, grandchildren, great-grandson, and extended family.  A “snow bird,” Rosalie enjoyed spending time swimming and socializing with her daughter and friends in Florida.  Finding a great deal at a tag sale was a great day in Rosalie’s book, and she loved her programs of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in the evening time.

Rosalie was a woman of Christian faith with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed the relationships she formed in the Kingdom Hall and the service to Jehovah she was able to provide, even in her senior years. After a routine flu shot in early 2015, Rosalie was paralyzed as a side-effect of the vaccine, an autoimmune disorder called Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Her faith and her strength got her back on her feet until March 21, 2021, when her health started to rapidly decline.

Rosalie is survived by her daughter, Karen Mavica of Pine Bush, her son, Jeffrey (and Lisa) Pedersen of Pine Bush, her granddaughter Jennifer (and Jahmel) Rivera of Staten Island, her granddaughter Nicole Pedersen of Syracuse, her grandson Erik Pedersen of Syracuse, and her great-grandson Noah Rivera of Staten Island, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  She is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Matson, her husband George “Benny” Pedersen, her brothers Henry Maiorino and Stephen Maiorino, as well as her twin sister, Raphaella Constantine.

Memorial service and celebration of life will be held at William M. Gagan Funeral Home on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 12-2pm with Brother Lehman of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses giving a talk. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.wmgaganfuneralhome.com
