The Pine Bush Central School District Superintendent Search is narrowing down qualified applicants in its search for a new superintendent following the untimely passing of beloved leader Tim O. Mains in late 2021.

At the Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Board of Education Meeting Board President Gretchen Meier shared that the process is down to the finalists. When reached for additional information following the meeting, district officials declined to comment any further on the search at this time.

During the previous Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday, March 8, Meier gave an update stating that the next step in the process was to interview the applicants. When asked by an audience member if the district received a lot of applicants for the position, Meier share that about 15 applicants were being reviewed and narrowed down.

Earlier this year, the Board announced William J. Hecht, Orange-Ulster BOCES Chief Operating Officer, would be assisting in the search and recommending a group of final candidates to the Board. The Board will make all decisions concerning the selection process, the evaluation of candidates and the final appointment. Interim Superintendent of Schools Donna Geidel is expected to be at the helm until July 18, 2022.
