Of Paper And Plate: Contemporary Art at Market Basket Delicatessen

Posted

For three days this October, Site Seen brings 14 contemporary artists into Market Basket Delicatessen, a working deli in the heart of Kingston, as part of the 2026 O+ Festival.

Presented by Site Seen in collaboration with O+, Of Paper And Plate explores what happens when contemporary art enters a space already in motion. Rather than transforming the deli into a gallery, the exhibition allows the two to coexist: the counter stays open, lunch gets made, customers come and go, and art becomes part of the everyday rhythm of the place.

Taking its title from two familiar objects, paper and plate, the exhibition invites artists to consider their material, cultural and associative possibilities while responding to a setting never designed for the presentation of art.

Featuring Amanda Russo Rubman, Carol Paik, Christina Varga, Deidre Corcoran, Jennifer Hicks, Jennifer Zackin, John Gerard, Katee Boyle, Mary Therese Creede, Melanie Delgado, Patrick Dennis, Ryan Cronin, Saidee Sonnenberg and Soli Pierce.

Free and open to the public.
