Meet the artist on Sunday

Posted

The Gardiner Library is currently hosting an exhibit entitled Summer in Winter: Paintings by Rachel Swersey, culminating with the artist reception on Sunday March 24 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Meet the artist and see her works which bring the colors and warmth of summer to life in paint. Traditional still life is the point of departure for relationships both simple and complex between objects, nature, and people. Like summer in winter, the balancing of opposites is a theme throughout the work.

Rachel Swersey is an artist living in Gardiner. She received her BFA in painting at Bard College, and her MA in Art Education from Teachers College Columbia University.

The works will be on display in the library exhibit space, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike, through March 24.
