Mary Jane Payne passed away peacefully on August 24, 2021 at the age of 86. Born on September 2, 1934 in Irvington, NJ the daughter of Teresa and Orville Barry. Mary Jane worked for The Bank of New York for over 30 years until her retirement. In her retirement she loved just being home spending time with her family. An avid Mets fan, even in the bad times, and was an ace at doing crossword puzzles! She always enjoyed watching nature from her windows, especially when it was cold. A lover of all animals but her cat "Ellie Mae" was the favorite and she will miss her dearly.
Mary Jane is predeceased by her husband Albert R. Payne, her son Mark Payne and daughter Patricia Edmunds. She is survived by her children Michael Payne (Maryanne), Mary Chessari (Tony), and Matthew Payne. She is also survived by her daughter in law Kay Payne (Mark). She has 8 grandchildren, Michael F. Payne (Erin), Ryan Edmunds (Kelly), Kristen Solano, Michelle Chessari, Anthony Chessari (Colleen) Teresa Payne, Christine Payne, Abbie Payne and 3 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and caregivers at the Care Center at Sunset Lake and the Garnet Catskill Hospital for the exceptional care they provided.
Visitation will be held on Sunday August 29, 2021 from 2-5pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY. Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Monday August 30, 2021 at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown NY, Burial will take place in Wallkill Cemetery.
