Dana Levine, age 73, of Garnerville, NY passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
Dana was born February 5, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to Norman and Marjorie Meyerson. Dana grew up in West Hempstead, NY and received a degree in education from the University of Hartford in 1968.
Dana married the love of her life, Arthur Levine in 1971. The couple initially settled in Pomona before moving to Garnerville, where they raised their two loving children; Cara and Douglas.
Dana was a dedicated and a hard worker. She volunteered for the North Rockland Central School District Parent Teacher Association for many years. Dana was PTA president for North Garnerville Elementary School, Farley Middle School, and North Rockland High School. In addition she was co-president of the North Rockland School District PTA Council.
Dana was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to be "Me-Me" to her grandsons, Noah and Mason. Dana loved holidays and family gatherings; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company.
Dana was known for her good sense of humor, selflessness, kind and compassionate spirit. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dana was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Marjorie. Dana is survived at home by her beloved husband, Arthur Levine, daughter, Cara Hoffman, and her husband, Sean, their sons, Noah and Mason, all of Walden, son, Douglas of Pomona, NY, and her sister Lisa Schwartz of Washington Township, NJ, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Dana was also very special to Denise Decker and her daughter Alyssa of Bloomingdale, NJ.
A private burial will take place in the Gates of Zion Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
