Charles W. Ihne a long-time resident of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021. He was 81.  

Over his career, Charles honorably served our country in the Army Reserves; retired as a Class A Diesel Mechanic from Yellow Freight; and worked for US Investigation Services conducting law enforcement checks in the field.  Throughout his lifetime, spanning over 30 years, he and his spouse provided foster care for hundreds of children.  His love and generosity will live on through all of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.  He was a member of Holy Name of Mary Church, Montgomery.

The son of the late William and Shirley (Leonard), he was born November 25, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY.  He is predeceased by his spouse of 48 years, Irene (Crehan), sisters Mary and Anne, and brother Michael.

Survivors include his brother Robert Ihne of Chester, children: Christine Ihne at home, William Ihne and his wife Mary Jo of Walker Valley, Sharon Neill and her husband, John Cuda of Queens

Grandchildren: Samantha Jo, Amber, Jonathan, Lauren and by his many nieces and nephews, foster children and foster grandchildren. 

The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to stjude.org or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
