Caitlyn Murphy won the championship in the 3,000-meter run, leading the Wallkill girls’ team to a seventh-place finish at the Mid Hudson Athletic League championships on Friday at Rondout Valley High School.

The FDR Presidents won both the boys’ and girls’ meets. The Wallkill boys’ team finished seventh.
Murphy finished the race in 10:56.39.

Lea Martini was fifth in the triple jump, reaching 32-9, while Mayah Simon was eighth with a jump of 31-10. Martini also was seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.83.

Miranda Padilla finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:15.32, and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.74.

Amenya Brown was seventh in the discus, reaching 87-10.

The 400-meter relay team of Carly Fitzsimmons, Aaliyah Gaston, Martini and Giada Post took seventh and the 1,600-meter team of Martini, Padilla, Post and Murphy took eighth.

Jason Collazo was the top finisher for the boys’ team, finishing second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.20, with Mason Birdsell finishing second in 11.83.
Jake Craypo was third in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:19.50 and fourth in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:41.17. Josh Craypo was sixth in the 1,800-meter run with a time of 2:05.88.

Jayden Boafo finished third in the triple jump in 39-8 and Mason Birdsell was fifth, reaching 39-5.

Dylan MacPhail was seventh in the boys’ 110-meter hurdles in 20.31 seconds. Harold Bruggeman was eighth in the shot put, reaching 36-3.25.

The Panthers’ 1,600- and 3,200-meter relay teams both placed seventh.
