Archibald “Archie” Reid of Wallkill, died peacefully Thursday, December 22, 2022. He was 83. 

Born in Pawtucket, RI on March 13, 1939, he was the second of ten children, born to David and Margaret Coyle Reid.

He served in the Navy as an ACW3 Air Control man early warning radar navigator.

Archie and his bride came to this area in 1974 where they raised their 3 children Danny, JoAnn and Archie.

He was the proprietor of “Reid’s Wholesale Florist” and then became a teacher at the Fishkill Correctional Facility from which he retired. 

Always community minded, he served in many ways; including Walden Little League, ZBA of Walden and ZBA Town of Shawangunk, Town of Shawangunk Fire Commissioner, Town of Shawangunk Republican Committee, American Legion and Knights of Columbus 4th degree.

But by far his most important role in life was grandfather to his cherished Brittany Cassisi, Kylie Reid, Ryan Reid, and Alex Reid.

He joins in heaven his son Archie, granddaughter Candice, his parents, his siblings, Ella, Beverly, Mary June, Rita, Georgia, David, Tommy and Joseph, and his in laws Sally Koza and Lucille Zangara, Elaine Grassi, Tony Coppola.

He leaves behind his bride, Camille, his children Danny Reid, JoAnn and Micky Cassisi, his daughters in law Jan Reid and Luz Markham, his grandchildren, his sister Patricia, his nieces and nephews including Kristine and Andrew Marcucci, his “outlaws” Larry and Pat Grassi, Frankie Grassi, Joey and Sandy Grassi, Anna Marie Grassi, Maria and John Coppola, Geraldine and Ronny Devlin, Jeannie and Lenny Catapano, Natalie Coppola and Mary Lou Venezíali, Angela and John Warren, Diana and Glenn Grossman, 33 nieces and nephews and 37 greats and he leaves behind so many dear,dear friends, especially Bob and Pat Leary and Rori and Lou Cariola, Maggie and Kevin Hunt, John Valk Jr., and Rose and Clem Milano, all of whom made him the richest man in the world.  

Visitation will be Tuesday December 27, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden.

A Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday December 28, at 11a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo, 2212 Route 44/55, Gardiner.
