Local organizations Keep Newburgh Beautiful and Melanin Unchained are joining merchants and property owners on Broadway to do weekly cleanups along Broadway. The first one will be held on Monday, October 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cleanup will begin at 128 Broadway, and a schedule will be made available soon.

The purpose of this new pilot program is to address the buildup of trash along the Broadway corridor in hopes that stakeholders and business owners will become involved in their community. Donations for rakes, brooms, snow shovels, gloves and trashbags or overall donations to support the pilot program are still being sought.
