Cornwall Public Library is pleased to announce an exciting lineup of events for the week of April 16-22.

On Monday, April 17, the library will host a Creative Writers Group at 11:30 a.m. This adult group welcomes new members and requests that participants register via the library’s online calendar. Also on Monday, Dog Tales will take place at 6 p.m. for grades K-12. Children can read independently to a furry friend from Hudson Valley Paws for a Cause. Registration is required and opens one week prior to the program.

On Wednesday, April 19, a 6-Hour Defensive Driving Workshop will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. This DMV-approved, NTSI course is sponsored by AARP, and pre-registration is required in person at the library. The cost is $25 for AARP members and $30 for non-members. Also on Wednesday, PJ Story Time will take place at 6:30 PM for all ages. Participants are asked to register their child(ren) via the library’s online calendar, and registration opens one week prior to the program.

On Thursday, April 20, the Mystery Book Group will meet at 2 p.m. to discuss The Fiancée by Kate White. This is a drop-in program, but a virtual option can be made available upon request. Hard copies of the book are available to borrow at the library, and eBooks and eAudiobooks are available through Libby and hoopla. Also on Thursday, the Book Break Book Group will meet at 4:30 p.m. to discuss The Magician’s Elephant by Kate DiCamillo. This group is for grades 3 and 4, and participants are asked to register in person when they pick up a copy of the book at the library. Finally, at 7 p.m., the Great Decisions program will continue with Session 2, “War Crimes.” Finally, on Friday, April 21, the T.U.T. Meeting will be held at 5:45 p.m. for the Library Teen Advisory Board for established members only. Please contact Lisa SinClair at 845-534-8282 for additional information.
