Alayne Eisloffel led the Tri-County Community Partnership January meeting via Zoom.

Annette Kahrs shared the Hope Not Handcuffs-Hudson Valley (HNH-HV) program through coordination with State University of New York at Albany, has received a federal grant in the amount of $288,000. Hope Not Handcuffs-Hudson Valley provides volunteers known as “Angels,” to those who are addicted and seek assistance through participating law enforcement agencies as they seek treatment for their drug or alcohol addiction. The grant will enable further research and measuring the efficacy of the HNH-HV program as well as allow the program to provide additional follow up through the use of recovery coaches.

The Tri-County Community Partnership Youth Program is working on Public Service Announcement (PSA) videos. Macen DeLesio shared the group is actively seeking youth members. Eisoloffel shares, “I would love to have more students from our district involved. Our Youth Partnership is active in putting together campaigns and figuring out how to best reach their peers. They are also working on a PSA regarding mental health and there is a survey being circulated on social media regarding this subject.” Both parents and youth interested in joining or learning more, please call or text Alayne Eisloffel at (845) 551-0076 or email aeisloeffel@tccpartnership.org.

The primary fundraiser for the Tri-County Community Partnership is their annual Paddle Run. Last year this event was held virtually but organizers are optimistic for an in-person experience on June 12 this year. Save the date and watch for further updates.

Town of Wallkill Boys and Girls Club Youth Program Director, Shane Merone was in attendance at the meeting and shared a bit of background around the organization’s, “World of Work,” video series featuring interviews by youth member, Aidan. Merone explained, “Aidan visits various businesses and occupations around the area and conducts interviews with owners/managers.” The interviews are recorded and turned into upbeat videos to highlight various occupations. Merone is open to local businesses who are interested in participating, especially more female owned or managed. Reach out via email to: smerone@bgcorange.org for more information.
