Hello, New Windsor. Does anyone else feel like we should be building an Ark with all of this rain we have had lately? It seems like every weekend it has been raining, canceling scores of sporting events and activities in the Hudson Valley. It has been a long time that the fall around here has been this bad with things being canceled due to the weather. I don’t know if this is a sign of what our winter entails ahead; will we be getting a lot of snow as well? Or maybe we will have a dry and warm winter instead? I guess we will have to wait and see. For now let’s just hope for some nice weekends ahead for the rest of the fall.
Join the Hudson Valley SPCA for their 5th Annual Donation and Adoption Celebration on Sunday October 15 from 12 to 5 p.m. at their center 940 Little Britain Road, New Windsor.
There will be a fun afternoon of great music, food, fun vendors and more while supporting your local animal shelter. And maybe add a new four-legged furry friend to your family while you are at it.
Adoption fees will be waived for the day. Everyone is asked to please bring bagged, clean, new or gently used comforters, blankets, towels, sheets and all types of bedding that will be used in the shelter for the dogs and cats to be warm this winter. Food and cleaning goods will also be accepted and very much appreciated.
The band Midnite Image will be performing from 12 to 2 p.m., and RockSlyde will be performing 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!
