New Windsor Police make arrest in burglary case

On March 22, at about 11:20 a.m., New Windsor Police, with the assistance of Town of Newburgh Police, arrested 47-year-old Clarence Hulzenga. 

Hulzenga was and charged with Burglary 2nd, Grand Larceny 4th, and Petit Larceny in connection with a residential burglary that occurred on March 18, 2023 on Barberry Ln in New Windsor. He was arraigned before Town of Woodbury Justice Hasin and remanded to Orange County Jail on $25,000 bail pending further action by the court.

On March 18, New Windsor Police responded to a reported burglary on Barberry Ln. Several items, including a motor vehicle, were reported stolen during the burglary. The vehicle was later located in Poughkeepsie. Hulzenga was developed as a suspect. 

On March 22, police located Hulzenga in the City of Newburgh. He was arrested after a short foot pursuit.
