On Wednesday October 13 at approximately 9 p.m.,members of the City of Newburgh Police Department responded to the area 17 City Terrace for a Shot Spotter activation. Once on scene officers located a man who had sustained four gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where is currently in stable condition.
A large crowd was present while officers were trying to preserve the crime scene. The City of Newburgh Police Department was assisted by The FBI-led Hudson Valley Safe Streets Taskforce, the State Police, the Town of Newburgh Police Department and the Town of New Windsor Police Department in keeping control of the crowd.
It is believed there may be more than the one reported victim in this incident. Police are asking anyone with information to contact 845-569-7509. Calls can remain confidential. The investigation is ongoing and being handled by the City of Newburgh Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Orange District Attorney’s Office.
