The Village of Montgomery board, before getting down to business during its May 7 meeting, congratulated Autumn Strobach for being nominated as valedictorian for Valley Central High School’s class of 2024.

Mayor Mike Hembury presented Strobach with a certificate commemorating her devotion to academics, community service, and her softball team.

Hembury and the board also bought her a gift that would give her a head start in her career: a stethoscope and nursing case, signed by the mayor and trustees.
