So many events occurring in November:

The Golden Anniversary Meet & Greet Open House for Rev. James Van Houten at the Walden Baptist Church Hall on Saturday, November 4, 3 - 7 p.m. Rev. Van Houten will celebrate 50 years of service. For information contact Dianne McKinstrie at 845-401-1514.

The Walden United Methodist Church Annual Holiday Fair will be held on Saturday, November 4, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 1206 Route 52, You will find Christmas, Fall/Thanksgiving and general crafts. Also, new to you books, jewelry and classy attic treasures as well as a bake sale with lots of delicious goodies.

Also visit St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church for their Holiday Craft Fair on November 4, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The fair will be held in the church hall located at 15 Walnut Street. 20 vendors participating with a wide variety of offerings including handcrafted and upcycled vintage jewelry, pottery, blown glass ornaments, holiday cookies, jams, mini pies and much more. There will be a silent auction, raffles a 50/50 drawing. Not to be missed.

Please also attend a special event to honor our Hometown Heros on November 4 with an unveiling and dedication ceremony for our Veterans Banners both former and new style. Free refreshments courtesy of Empanada Nirvada and Sweeter than Sweet Cupcakes will be provided as well as free gift bags courtesy of generous sponsors for all banner holders. Maureen and Jason Swinger from Coleman Corners Farmstand send fans of classical music an invitation to the Fox Hill Bruderhof dining hall, 80 Coleman Road on Saturday, November 4, 4 p.m. for a free concert. Find Beethoven, Bach and Mozart on the program. Enjoy one hour of music followed by refreshments.

The Thirteenth Annual Veterans Day, 2023 Brick Dedication and rededication honoring Men and Women of the U. S. Military will be held at Walden Veterans Memorial Park, 150 West Main Street on Sunday, November 12, 2023, 1 p.m. Sponsored by the Walden Veterans Park Committee and the Walden Community Council. All are invited to attend.

The Harvest Fest Committee will hold a Holiday Festival on Saturday, November 18, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Wooster Memorial Grove Park, 89 East Main Street, Walden. For vendor information please contact Debbie Robb (845)706-1570. All proceeds benefit the 2024 Annual Harvest Fest.

The Josephine-Louise Public Library sends the following news:

The Valley Central High School District Future Teachers Club will offer a Story Book Club at the library for ages 5 years and up on Tuesdays, November 7, 14 and 28. The Future Teachers Club will guide the children to write your own stories with words and/or pictures, helping to spark their imaginations! Don’t forget to register for our Felting Craft with Christine Adams on Thursday, November 2. 6 p.m. Make a cute needle-felted owl for you, a friend, or a loved one. For ages 12 and up.
Join us to create a Fall Forest Tin on Thursday, November 9, 5:30 p.m. Create a fun and whimsical forest in a small tin. All supplies will be provided. For ages 13 years and up; Please register ahead of time.

Our local ornithologist, Bill Fiero, has just returned from his latest adventure! Join us as Bill presents “Australia: Birding and Nature” on Monday, November 13, 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments served.
