On May 9, at approximately 9:15 a.m., New York State Police responded to 1000 Homestead Avenue, Maybrook, for a report of an industrial fatal accident at the Yellow Freght site.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Stanley Weglarz, 61 from Mount Juliet, Tennessee was assisting in the yard directing trucks to trailers when he was struck by a 2014 Freightliner cab that was attempting to hook up to an empty trailer. Mr. Weglarz was found crushed between the cab and the trailer. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

State Police were assisted by Town of Montgomery Police and the Village of Maybrook Police Department.
